Westerbeke

I have another question. I'm not at all familiar with Westerbeke engines. They are not common in my part of the world. Are they OK? Parts obtainable? Expensive/cheap? Most of the marinised engines use other people's small industrial engines, such as Kubota, Mitsubishi etc. Anybody know what the Westerbekes are based on? This one is a 70 HP.

I found a thread of the Westerbeke 70 in the archives and there's plenty of good information on there. It's based on a Perkins motor and the parts are fairly expensive. Normal.
