NPS is not European. NPT and NPS are both U.S. standards.


British Standard Pipe (BSP) has been adopted by ISO and is used pretty much in the entire world except the U.S. There is a taper version of BSP, called BSPT, but marine underwater fittings are not sold in this.

Various people have suggested various metal replacements.

If you look at earlier threads you will find a mass on information, including from me, as to why using Trudesign non-metallic valves from NZ is arguably a much better option. If perhaps slightly more expensive. They work beautifully and simply cannot corrode or be mistaken for something that they are not.

You pays your money and takes your choice. Trudesign, rather than the American Marelon, are the genuinely modern option. Bit like window frames. Pine or hardwood will eventually rot. Not these valves. They are fit and forget in the time span of a boat.
