Sabre 34 Deck sole issues?

I understand that a design flaw, with an easy fix, on the Sabre 34 MK II (1986-1992) hull # 256-430, is that water entering the mast, has no exit, and will cause problems with the structure of the hull. Looking for information on what to look for if buying this model.

Thanks,

Tahoe John
