Engines with indirect cooling require more flow: about 65-70 litres (14.5 - 15.5 gallons) per minute for each 75kW (100bhp) of engine power.

Thanks Don, that would also equate to 3 gpm. My 35HP would be 26KW or roughly 1/3rd of (rounded up) 9 gpm. Great responses guys, this is a great site and I'm very happy to be a part of it.

Just a little update: We motored her up the coast to her new home on Saturday. 7 1/4 hours at a steady 2200 rpm @ just over 7 knots and maintained an even temp of 180*F.

What a fun ride too. We had the tides in our favour but went through a couple of hours of washing machine waters. It was pretty rough but what a riot. The boat handled it without a wince or a groan.

I've got myself a damned good boat!
