I remember "Jester", but maybe what is forgotten are the incredibly long passage times made by him and the next owner Micheal Richy. I suppose some of that could be attributed to the small size of the boat but I think the rig had alot to do with it. I seem to remember the rig being chosen for it's ease of handling and not sailing performance. The sentiment about not being in a hurry and not caring about how long it takes seems to get tossed out there a little to casually at times. A few passages in a boat that can't get out of it's own way or has very poor light air performance may change your mind. It's one reason I sail a trimaran. FAST IS FUN!

If the survey turns up problems, can;t you reduce the roice of the boat accordingly and make up the money. How much is a survey, maybe I'm vastly underestimating the cost.
