Need certified surveyor near Beaufort, NC

I'm considering the purchase of a sail boat from an owner in coastal North Carolina and would like the recommendation of a good surveyor with NAMS and/or SAMS certifications and who will perform a capable survey of the boat's engine as well. If you've had a pleasant experience (even if the findings of the survey were less so), please suggest a name. Looking for someone in the Beaufort, NC area. Send names to me via private message (PM).

I looked at the list of marine surveyors in NC and didn't recognize anyone. There is a guy named Don locally that does this and also delivers boats with his wife Kathy, he is very reputable... but I can't remember his last name.

These guys (if you aren't buying the boat from them, and they don't know the owner either) would be able to recommend someone, they have been around a long time. Ask for John Warrington, he probably knows Don and Kathy's last name also.

You can't go wrong with Rob Eberle. He is very experienced and has the reputation of being one of the best, if not the best surveyor in the area. Rob did a survey for me and I was completely satisfied with his work.

Thanks for the recs, everyone. Got a peek at a recent engine survey on my target boat and it was disappointing so I've decided to pass. Still looking for the right boat - a 38'-43' center cockpit that isn't about to dissolve in the water.

Could u share the boat you were looking at and the results of the survey that made you reconsider? I am looking at a boat in that area and am curious if it is the same one.
