I have purchase a mumm 36 and need impórtant tip on how to get the most the boat

Hi Carlos. Congratulations on your purchase - a great boat. I have raced on a Mumm 36 including a 200 nautical mile ocean race as main steerer. A few things I noticed. Reduce sail early as wind increases and have a good operator on the main. We were getting great speed to windward in 35+ knots with a No4 and double reefed main. Crew weight on rail is critical. In light air crew positioning can assist significantly to maximise speed (heel angle and not too much weight aft) Even slight adjustments can make a difference - do lots of experimenting! Good luck.

Hi buddy, thank for the advices, our wind here in Salinas Ecuador South America is very soft, specially on this time of year 2 to 8 knots , I{m trying to find also any written manual on this boat that will give me more precise facts and details on how to make it go on this light wind

Contact a North Sail loft or maybe their website. They have done tuning guides for most major one-design classes. North was the dominant loft when that boat was a popular class. Go directly to Farr to see what they may have.

Hi Carlos,
Nice race boats - but a majority on this site are cruisers.
If you google 'mumm 36 race tips' or 'mumm 36 trim tips' you'll get a lot of sites with comments either by owners or designers which should help you out.
