Lee Sails

I am currently looking for a new set of sails for my Frers First 456. After several quotes from most of the main sailmakers (North, Ullman, Hood..etc.) I got a quote from Lee Sails and there is a BIG difference. They are much lower. What's the catch? Would like to know about LEE Sails quality etc......

With all sail makers the devil is in the details of the request and the quote. Anything you did not ask for can be assumed to be not included. Materials are not all the same and so there can be dramtic proce differences.

If you have a detailed specification the process of making sails is quite well refined and many vendors should be able to fill the order. If you need local service then you can expect to pay a little extra for it. Many local sail makers use overseas manufacturing. I would not say the fact that it is made overseas should be a serious issue, but local support may be of concerrn.

avazquez,

Greetings ,
I have dealt with Lee sails , whilst I was in Hong Kong for 10 years. Subsequently for the last 10 as well. Great Company - good workmanship - best value for money as far as cruising sails are concerned.
Well recommended - the only concern may be the freight cost

Well I ended up buying a Genoa from Ullman sails. Still I have to buy a Main in the next six months or so.
