I can see that. To me it just felt like a foyer or a mudroom before you enter the cabin proper. It also seems kind of unusual to have an aft head in a boat that small but it's something that a lot of people prefer--easy accessibility while on watch.

I didn't see it mentioned, but the nonsuch 36 has a ton of room/ pullman and aft head. Very cool boat.

I'm not sure this qualifies as creative (and boy is that Gozzard design intriguing) but our Hunter 410 has the athwartships Queen-plus berth aft, a saloon table and u shaped banquette that converts to a generous double-plus berth, with a person-length banquette opposite, and a very comfortable Pullman berth forward, with a head in the forepeak. No V berth in sight.
