Chesapeake 32

Anyone know these boats? I am interested in one, owned by a yard service manager and impeccably upgraded and maintained. Rhodes design, built Denmark 1961(!)

Re: Chesapeake 32

I checked one out that was for sale here in Hawaii. I really like the old style with a narrow beam. It means though that you don't have much room below. I think they are a great boat and the one I saw was well built. I think the very early ones did have some structural issues and I would investigate that through some research on the internet. I can't remember the details.
kind regards,

They are a well bulit boat, pretty too. My friend sailed across the Atlantic with another friend back in the 80's. They both said it was a great boat and it handled it nicely.

Re: Chesapeake 32

There was one of the early ones where I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas that was a very nice looking little sloop. It blows force 5 every afternoon there during the sailing season, and I do remember that this boat had to have 500 lbs. of lead added low up forward, around station 2 or 3 (out of 10).
