Canadian Sailcraft 33'

So my G/f and I are quickly becoming the primary crew on her family's boat and we would like to start doing overnight trips on her. She is in fabulous condition and is well taken care of in the off season here in Chicago. S/V Punch is an 80's era 33' foot cruiser and we would really like to get schooled on somethings.

Fresh water storage--fill locations and tips
the electric panel says a lot of things I don't understand.
It has an autopilot system but we have never used it. there is a belt that always hangs off of the wheel but the AP controls look like they are integrated into the steering system.
We need a new vhf radio. any tips or advice appreciated.
holding tank operations and input on cruising operations in marinas that you don't belong to.

Basically anything you think two young new cruisers might need to think about venturing out into Lake Michigan and the surrounding area.

I promise we are actually pretty good sailors, but after weeks of searching for a detailed manual, or forum for cs.... I have found either dead sites or passing mentions.

Thanks so much everyone.

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you lucked out .
Ask whoever kept her in that condition how things work.
Sounds like a decent caretaker.

Ya the second couple, (future parents in law) are awesome and spare no expense on care, but they have used it for weekend hour long pleasure cruises with VIP's in town for business and not much else. Some of the specifics have faded away with time.
