C&C 30

Hello all, am seeking info about trucking a '78, 30' C&C. I'm in the planning stage of moving it from Florida to Mississippi. May or may not follow through with this idea. It's kind of a family heirloom. My questions begin with, does anyone know the height, with mast stepped, bottom of keel to highest point on top deck? Is it actually ten feet wide or could it be ten feet and an inch or two? All three states DOT say that is very important, they'll ticket you if it's over ten feet! I've found documents on the www that say it weighs just under ten thousand lbs., true or false? Anybody ever tried a move like this? Can it be done, by a couple of good ole boys with degrees from the school of hard Knox? And with a diesel pick up truck and forty foot trailer? Thanks for any advice y'all can give.

have u considered the 45' mast?

worth the money to just hire a boat moving company and let them deal with the permits and whatnot.

Thanks gl. The mast will be removed when she's hoisted. My research so far says as long as you're not over twenty six thousand lbs and not a commercial vehicle you can do this trip with only about one hundred dollars in permits, all three states combined. It's a ten hour drive one way for me, the reason I'd like to have estimates on height and width. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Is there a reason you have to truck it? It can't be sailed where you want it?

It needs a few things done, bottom paint, repower etc. It'd be nice to fix stuff in the back yard this winter. It'll be ready by spring. JAX to GPT, quite a sail. But thanks for the thought, sounds great!
