It depends does the Nina have a fin, full, or long keel? I hear you can actually use a barn door for a rudder on that one!

The previous owner mentioned he left a map hidden somewhere on board. It has an "X" on it, but he claims that's just the location of one of his favorite cruising spots. The parrot on his shoulder started squawking something, but he promptly shot it.

Let me know if you find the map.

The Caravel was the better exploration boat for two centuries and it was a very sound boat. It had a good ruder even if in a storm it was needed several men to take care of it. The keel was....a big log. Compared with today's sailing boats it was incredibly small.

I would love to buy that boat and outfit it with about 8 M134 mini guns on each side, hidden behind doors. Then take a nice sail up the Somali coast and when the "pirates" pull up alongside, jump up wearing my tricorner hat and say, "AARRRRGGGHHH Mateys! You call yourselves pirates?? I'll show you what a real pirate is sporting!" Right then, we drop the 8 doors and fire up the mini guns for a little target practice.

I'd catch it all on video for Youtube, of course.

Never really thought about it before but ferro would be a great defence against small arms fire for those wanting to shoot it out with Somali pirates.

Could you even insure a boat like that for a crossing?

Where would you find replacement sails?

Any heads or plumbing? I doubt your wife would be happy using a bucket...
