best keel for Caribbean & beyond

At the moment I am considering a Caliber 40 (5'draft), Tayana 42 (6'draft) or 36' Endeavour sail cat. I see a lot of pictures of the Caribbean and it seems there is an awful lot of cats. I do not think I want that additional maintenance or docking fees. I would also like to consider a center cockpit if it had the "right keel" and large (non cast iron) water and fuel tanks.

I would like to buy a boat before November so I can have it ready to go when the hurricane season ends.

Cats are great in the Caribbean.
If I was selling my boat I would buy a cat.

As to keels . Theres no depth problems so 6ft is fine, or deeper.

Starting to be over detailed about your demands on what the keel is made out of makes you very restricted to old junker boats or very expensive European boats.
