Auto Pilot Replacement

The time to replace my aged Vetus AP2S, is fast approaching. Vetus stopped selling these units some time ago; So with no clear migration path with the same vendor - it is time to look for something new.

Yacht: Is a 51ft Steel Ketch
Displayment: 23500 Kgs
Current Helm action is - Hydraulic Pump shared with the Wheel.

What options have other people taken ? And with that magical crystal ball - would you have done anything different.

Hi Tim

I have been very happy with my Simrad which I installed last year,so far 6000nm without a hitch.It was very easy to install with the simnet plug and play set up.I have the AP24 head unit,AC 42 computer and RC 42 compass,RF 300 rudder feedback.I have it linked to a L&S 50ST hydraulic linear drive.
