Raymarine auto pilot

A friend just installed a below deck on the sailboat with the s2g controller and the 8001 display...the manual says it will auto tack when you push the -1 and the -10 buttons together...it's just that there are no such buttons on the display head...anyone know the proceedure to auto tack???

Raymarine manuals are full of inacuracies. Suggest your friend call Raymarine tech support while sitting at the autopilot to get the correct info. The 7002 two has those buttons but the 8002 does not. The manual is the same for both so be sure your friend is not reading the directions for the 7002.

Not much really. Some just have differant bells and whistles. Some come in bundled packages and some don't. The point is that the answer to your question is in whethwer your friend is reading the manual correctly. The same manual comes with the 7001, 7002, 8001, 8002. There will be suttle differances in the instructions as to what to do with what model. You must be sure you are reading the instructions for the correct model.
