Pacific Charts

I am busy preparing to sail a boat from teh west coast of Mexico to Brisbane. What is the best and cheapest way to get the relevant charts?

Come to Puerto Vallarta and make copies from the free library offered here at the SSCA Cruising Station - Hail "Kavenga" on the local cruisers hailing channel 22a.

You pay for the copying, but it's otherwise free.

Interestingly, we will be leaving from Puerto Vallarta, having just bought a boat in PV. It is an interesting co-incedence. How good is the chart selection?

Pretty good, but I don't know exactly what Steve & Kay (Kavenga) have available.

I don't want to post his email here because it could be harvested by a spam robot. If you join the "South Bound" group you can contact him directly. It's at:

Hey Guys, Sorry for bustin in,

I'm also preparing a sail to Darwin embarking this Feb.
I'm researching provisioning stops and "must see" places enroute so if you've the hit list I'd appreciate seeing it.

I'll be sure to follow your voyage posts. Who knows, should we meet I'll be happy to buy the first round! We'll be on the Lagoon 42!

Best of luck.
