How were you going to cook the 100 pounds of rice without a stove? This trip is getting more and more curious. Are you related to Donald Crowhurst?

The stovetop works perfectly! Corn, patatoes, pasta, canned chicken, soup.
We eat at least 2 meals a day onboard.

I said OVEN people.... Thats the inside of the cooker...

If you plan you menu right you don't need to keep all that much cold, for 3 people. Your dairy, your left-overs from the last meal, opened liquids and a few condiments perhaps. Until you get south you don't even need to chill the beer.

Find the nearest variety store and get yourself an ice chest. Add a block of ice every couple days from the marinas and you're golden.

So, exactly where are you? Coinjock, Belhaven?, Oriental? I know you're on the ICW and are complaining about sticker shock, but How can we tell you where to go if we don't know where you are. Or maybe you don't know either.

I haven't found that prices at restaurants near the ICW are any better or worse than along I-95 for the same level of restaurant. Once you lite someplace you'll find out how to get along the same as the locals and your prices will go down. Traveling is when you spend the most money for day to day expenses. I am living in a good marina and spend less than $2000 a month. I could spend a lot less if I was at anchor, or at a cheaper marina (I'm moving to a different marina in Dec. to save $150 a month).

BTW, Do you get the Donald Crowhurst reference?

Scoob you the man! I seen you and your boat in Coyemans and thought its long way to take the boat anyware, but you did it. Great adventure, you inspired many people here. Keep going and keep us posted. I decided, if you did it, I will too, so next week or so I'll buy 42'.

Did you say hi? I do not recall. A ton of people were checking out the boat down there. I feel i made some dream plesant dreams about life at sea.
Let me know if you find one. There is no sailboat suport in albany area, they think we have sale boats. Keep looking!

In NY a dollar can buy you a smile.
When i go somewhere EG hells kitchen, NY i get treated like a king when i drop $150 on two people. They do not tell you where the bathroom is, or point, they walk you to the door. Your important because they want your money. Here they act like they are doing me a favor by taking my tainted NY currency.
Really, they need an education, on how to take peoples money.
If i go inside again, i will stop in norfolk, then beaufort. And thats it.
