Stern mooring style

Good day everybody,

I was wondering, wich is the most common mooring's style in the marina all around the world?

As far as i know all the Mediterranean, in very crowded places, all the boat are stern to the pontoon, side by side.

Are there place where the along-side mooring is used?

I was looking to buy a trawler with no exit on the stern part (like the old tall ship)

Or any idea on how to moore and jump off a boat by the bow? Any known system?

Thanks
Stefano
