Are you sailing the Pacific?
HI All and happy sailing.I am stuck on land in Cape Town and have been reading about a lot of sea life death due possibly to the radioactive toxins from Fukushima .
Are there any of you sailing the Pacific who have seen evidence of mass die offs of marine creatures?
If some of the reports regarding continuous ongoing unstoppable further release of toxins is true then the projection is that all oceans of the world will be so poisoned over an indefinite and continuous time period that no marine life will continue to exist with consequent death of the oceans and that will lead to the depletion of oxygen in the environment .

The possible scenario does not look good at all .

Re: Are you sailing the Pacific?
Where are people getting their news...?! Just do a search on "coastal nutrient pollution" and "legacy contaminants" to see what are likely causing a much greater impact to coastal ecosystems.

Re: Are you sailing the Pacific?
If you are implying that the radioactive content of the Fukushima leaks are causing worldwide dieoffs... simply ridiculous... beyond belief...

Re: Are you sailing the Pacific?
Just consider the radioactive contamination from the Bikini Atoll tests in the '40s and '50s.
We're all dead and just don't know it.

Well, everyone is dead in the Pacific and the radiation will soon kill off all humans as it floats around the world.

The anti nuclear nuts are all over spreading their misinformation. The below article blows holes in the efficacy of even 'credible' estimates of health effects of radiation.

Re: Are you sailing the Pacific?
No argument that Fukishima level radiation is not good for anything except death, illness, and possible mutation, but it is still essentially a local event, abeit an intense one.
