No liveaboards Greg. I am carefully respecting the posted usage policy.

However, I warned the harbormaster before I signed up that I would be here ALL THE TIME preparing to head south and he said it was fine.

The new rebuild is amazing. Schmancy apartments circle the marina and it only has 95 slips- lots of VERY nice boats. A couple with a boat near mine says this is the nicest, and least expensive, marina in CA. That there are nicer ones in San Diego but they are very expensive. If we got to use the apartment hot tubs I would be more inclined to agree- but that could just be the long days talking.

While cruising I have seen quite q few shooting stars. Some nites we would see 5 or 10, in a few hours.
On land we usually go out for predicted meteor showers.
Then we got spoiled. Around 6-8 years ago. (memory fade) in Oregon we went out to see what was to be a big shower. Big wasn't the word for it. We sat and watched and for 1 1/2 hours we saw at least 10 every minute! Sometimes 3 at a time.
Then as we were walking down the ramp to the docks, a big fireball crossed the sky in front of us.
It was incredible.

I can be amazed by the mundane.

Horseshoe Crab the size of a nickel leaving a usual array of tracks in the shallow water in the Keys.

Kayaking up to a basking manatee (unintentional encounter)

Standing in the middle of a large lake in Maine in February.....Like an Ice Road Trucker.

Knowing two things about a Higher Power....There is one and I ain't it!!

Romantic athiest, myself. I know full well that human beings are programmed to notice, draw delight, and infer meaning from coincidence, while ignoring the mundane and common. Doesn't stop me from allowing myself to enjoy my more primitive instincts.

I met my wife in the year of the comet (Hale-Bopp), for sure it was an omen from above.

Admiration, magical, romantic matters not. It still gives me a warm fuzzy feeling watching the paint brush work it's beauty from a master. Everyone has a different name for the same master. Just sit back, and enjoy

Just goes to show, the subject and the photographer's "eye" is more important than the equipment. Photography is one of my hobbies, and I enjoy seeing well done photos by others.
