Re: Shoes

I find sebago spinnakers comfy... not arch support however. None them are worth a boo for providing serious traction... on my deck anyway. Perhaps you can use inserts/arch supports from Dr Sholls or similar????

In summer I do the barefoot thing. Don't wear shoes in the apartment ever.. we don't like to track stuff inside.

Re: Shoes

Have you tried using regular boat shoes with a good arch support insert? You may need to go with a size larger or extra wide to compensate for the insert. I agree the soles of most "boat Shoes" get slick fast.

Re: Shoes

I so appreciate everyone's ideas! I am trying ones I haven't already tried. As those of us w arthritis in our feet; it's a constant change. With the cold weather we are having in SC, I noticed a little more difference in my foot shape. Oh well, I can still boat. Just a different oar!(foot)

Re: Shoes

I have owned just about every type of deck shoe available. Picked up a pair of Dubarry (sneaker)deck shoes in 2005 and since then, I have never looked at another type of shoe, replaced them in 2013 with another similar pair (Tornado) . I hope they last as long. I am slightly worried as the new ones are made in China.
