Shipping My Mast

I have a std rig Catalina 36 in Sackets Harbor NY with the stick off. Were planning on doing the St. Lawerence,Ottawa,Rideau triangle and then thru the Trent-Severn. I would prefer not to carry my mast but rather have it shipped to Midland Ont sometime before July1. Any suggestions? Thank you.

From experience I know it is way cheaper to carry it plus a lot less chance of damage. It is inconvenient but the $s are only getting higher.

A man hauled a mast from upstate NY to Ohio last year
using the very simple rig in picture.
There's a simple pivot on top of the truck
which allows it to go around corners. It worked real slick.

When we prep a mast for shipment, we remove the spreaders and place them in the boat. We pull all of the shrouds tight and tie them against the mast. Same with the furler if so equipped, We then plastic shrink wrap the whole stick, followed with bubble wrap and then one more round of shrink wrap over that. We've never had a mast damaged in transit.
