Rebel Heart Donation Site

I know we are all very interested in Eric and his family and wondering what happened to s/v Rebel Heart.

I also know that many people will want to donate and help them out. If you search the thread you'll find it on page 31, but who want to read 51 and growing fast pages to find it?

Here it is: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/djWq3

Re: Rebel Heart Donation Site

Eric and Charlotte have asked that donations be made to That Others May Live Foundation, rather than them personally.

From their blog:

"While we are thankful for the unsolicited generosity we have received and been offered, we encourage you to consider donating to That Others May Live (www.thatothersmaylive.org), which provides relief to the families of members of the United States Air Force Rescue community when tragedy strikes."

After all the attacks on their family they may need to lay low for a while. The Misery Pimps need dirty laundry

I didn't read their blog and prefer that they donate to whomever they want once I donate to their cause.

Re: Rebel Heart Donation Site

Their blog is a must read:
Rebel Heart - Charlotte's Blog
Also, there is a very good article through Cruising Compass that tell a lot about the combined rescue.
Sailors recall rough seas during rescue of family - seattlepi.com

I served in the US Navy and while I was never a part of a rescue operation I know that anytime something like this goes down every one on board gets excited to greet out new arrivals. This is what we train for ... this is why we serve.

I'd be surprised they were insured. Most insurance companies require at least three capable crew on board for ocean crossings.
