Marina recommendations in Kemah, TX

I will be sailing my boat from New Orleans to Houston in a couple of weeks -weather permitting - to complete my move to Houston. I would like to keep the boat in Kemah and am wondering if anyone in the area has recommendations on marinas? I am not looking for anything too fancy, but a few amenities are nice. It's a 1979 Hunter 30. Thanks in advance for your help!

Floating slips or fixed? What is your budget? Draft?

Naturally as the marina gets nicer the cost goes up.

Re: Marina recommendations in Kemah, TX

Well I am paying 100$ a month in New Orleans right now but I am assuming that has got to be cheap compared to the Kemah area. I guess I could say somewhere around 200$ a month? No preference on floating or fixed and she draws 4 feet.

For that money you're going to look at the wharf or legend point. I would pick legend point myself.

Thank you for your recommendations. Any more tips if I increased my budget to 250-275 a month?

Much Thanks!

if i were staying in houston longer term, my boat would be at Waterford Harbor marina..
friendly folks.. gorgeous marina...and that location spot may be the best hurricane hole in the region.

We just sailed back from the Caribbean and put Liberty on a floating dock at Seabrook shipyard/marina. 400 for a 47' slip was the quote, month to month. It's a nice marina. We were in Marina del sol many years ago, but it is silted up so bad they told us our 4'3" draft was too deep for the entrance channel.

That's funny, they have no idea how deep their own channel is.
We're still in there and transit regularly at all but the lowest of tides with no problems!

While not in Kemah proper, Bayland Marina is in your price range and has all new facilities.
