pirate Mail order...

I think I'm going to open an online chandlers and a general online store..
I'll take all the orders.. add a delivery charge then send an e-mail saying the goods are on the way.. after 6 weeks the customer comes back asking whats happening and then I tell them the delivery company is having difficulty finding my address.. after 10 weeks I'll send them another e-mail to say the package has been lost.. however I'm happy to send a re-fund for the goods ordered.
At £25 a pop in delivery charges I'll make a fortune..

Re: Mail order...

Your forgetting the money you make on the float as the money sits in your account before the refund... (all those pennies add up with enough volume)

Re: Mail order...

Take the orders plus handling fees then order the items on Amazon Prime to be shipped to the customer. 😉

No, no, no. Actually delivering goods will do nothing but generate returns and warranty claims, destroying the business model.

Re: Mail order...

It's common for people to offer items they don't have for sale, when someone buys the item the 'seller' then buys the item and has it drop shipped. They add a small percentage to the cost to cover their trouble. When there is a problem with the item it gets sent back to the address on the package and the original seller ends up having to refund the original cost plus the extra % that the reseller added. Not sure what the practice is called... Free money maybe... Good luck with the business

Re: Mail order...

You could also buy things from normal hardware stores and 'marinise' them and then resell. And by marinise I mean double the price!

pirate Re: Mail order...

I'm just wondering how they'll respond when I demand a 'Complete Refund'.. way I look at it is they have not completed the contract.. its then down to them to claim the costs back from the shipper.. also.. apparently the items I ordered are no longer 'in stock'..
See how they respond before I name and shame a UK store..
