Lake Ontario for the Summer

Have a 44 foot sail and am looking for a marina on the NY side of Lake Ontario, where I can ship the boat and launch for the summer. Any suggestions about a suitable marina would be appreciated.

If it was me... I'd take the boat to Georgian Bay. Nicer.

OPINION above :-)

Most boats reach Lake Ontario via Oswego, although they come by water not road, but the facilities exist in Oswego because it's a popular cruising route. I would check marinas there first. You don't really say where you are coming from, the lake I fairly long, and depending where you're coming from, shipping costs will be less at one end then the other.

Georgian Bay is very nice cruising, but Lake Ontario has plenty to offer too, Bay of Quinte, Thousand Islands, Niagara River, Toronto are all great cruising destinations.

Navy point marine in Sacket's harbor has an excellent facility and could handle a boat like your's without issues. I imagine they won't come cheap, but they have one of the nicest marina's I've visited in the area. Sacket's is also a good base location on the lake.
