Re: Hot wiring your hand rails?

The electrified lifelines need to be blessed by GOD, ALLAH, OM etc before allowing the best anchor type to drop on the assault weapon trigger mechanism to blow away the evil doer foreigner/illegal alien/strange/different from me therefore scum from his mono/multi/ragbager/stinkpotter craft.

There. That ought'a do it.

Re: Hot wiring your hand rails?

Wow. This is an interesting thread!
A boat we were looking to buy last year had electrified lifelines. We thought it was totally ingenious. The original owner was a German engineer, and we didn't know if it was one of his "inventions" or if it was a common practice.

Thought about doing it on the boat we bought!

But, since we have two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers weighing in at 100 lbs a piece, we figure that might be all the deterrent we need!

Cheers,
Octopussy

OOPS! I did skip over it. So have we got it all? Pirates - Guns - Mono vs Multi - Global Warming.

It's makes me wonder how the whales are being affected.

Whales may also face liability if they cause unnecessary damage or injury to the would-be burglar. It would naturally come down to their testimony and credibility. But whales are pretty gentle and pretty credible, and they could always eat the perp if things get out of hand...

Of course, if you can afford to hire whales for security you can probably afford a pet alligator, which might be even better.

In all seriousness, man-traps pose major danger for their owners - both legal and physical. The main problem is that they cannot discriminate between a threat and an innocent and they cannot apply proportionate force.

For example, what if the boarder is an elderly gentleman with the coast guard auxilliery on legit business and a totally unforeseeable electric lifeline breaks his pacemaker? What about an child selling bananas who then drowns? What about some rich yachty with a litigious family who drunkenly dingies up to the wrong boat?

Hired whales are a better option. Anyone serious about this would need to consult legal counsel in the area where they operate, which might be more painful than an alligator bite.

Hot wiring hand rails is for people who aren't serious. We leave land mines and claymores all around the decks.

Drones......programed to circle the boat and attack on unverified facial recognition. I would think this could be used to keep gulls of the mast as well.

Electrified life lines.....bah.

I guess it would be too much to ask for the protection of good Karma. So bring on the tactical nuclear devices! Nuke the gay baby Humpback whales. Why anyone would want to harm a happy baby whale, I'll never know.
