I find it odd that so many people who own sailboats, don't actually seem to want to get their feet wet.

Maybe the water is cold where you are? Here in Florida, virtually all the sailors I know also enjoy being in the water.

Of course we love the water, 9 dive cylinders, 6 regulators, on board compressor, a bucket full of masks, fins, and even a couple of wet suits & dry suit for any water temp. I even mix nitrox and trimix and use this thing as a dive boat every chance I get. After all... that's why I have one, to dive off of.

It's too cold here for swimming really but when the weather is warm I jump in, scream and get out.

Reason I am working toward a sail vessel is to be able to get out on the water to get into the water and spend more time there.

Getting on the water to get in water is part of what its all about for me.

Even on Great Barrier Reef, Coral Sea and Pacific wetsuits are needed at times.
