Question Buying a charter boat

Anonymous brought up a very good question about buying a charter boat. Does a charter boat pay for is self by the time the contract is done? What condition does does the boat come to you in? Has anyone had any experences with companys like the Moorings?

Charter boats generally enter the market in poor to bad condition, requiring extensive re-fit.
These boats are generally set up to increase guest accommodations, and are most suitable for large families (or charter groups).
I'd say that former charter boats present a "buyer beware" opportunity to someone seeking a project boat.
Regards,
Gord

I think you are right Gord. I think I would do better making offers on boats coming out of charter service. I would be able to look them over and go from there.
