ASA Lessons

Hello All,
Recently acquired a 1975 Dufour 31 and haven't been sailing since I was a young boy. My cousin as well as a few friends will be teaching me but I also plan on taking some ASA classes.

Few Questions:
1) Are they worth it
2) Which ones should I focus on (as in which ones are a waste of money and which ones are worth it)
3) Is it more beneficial to have them do private lessons aboard my boat.

Thanks for all y'all do in helping young sailors such as myself.
