Me too, I need to create the opportunity to do that before much longer....no time like the present: Anyone in SW FL looking for an instructor/captain? Cover my expenses and I'm there! Seriously.

I used to live on the Manatee, great area. Hope development has not ruined it far upstream.

If you want a proof reader for your next draft, I'd be happy to volunteer. Would be a nice trip down memory lane for me!

Re: Anchoring Outside Tampa Bay

Yes i love Egmont key for days and exploring. And yes i have anchored their over night. If the wind switches there is no place to hide and ya can't sleep .
The guys are correct Egmont at day time is Great.. at night I do prefer Desoto Point . Very protected and there's a park with all sorts of exhibits..
12-15 ft of water to the shore..
Desoto point is my get away place and I'm from Tarpon springs its a 2 day trip there for me I so love the Manatee River..
