All is Lost

I was curious if any of you saw the movie "All is Lost"?
For those of you who don't know it is a sailing movie with a lot of sad stuff.
I am one who dreams of my first "Sail Boat", my dual motor fishing boat is nice but ......
I felt that while most of the real bad stuff that happened to him and his boat are possible.
But is it really?
Any more seasoned sailors have an opinion?

How much bad luck?, how much stupid?

Short version from my standpoint, possibly realistic, but also one of those things where it would be so much amateurish of someone to actually end up DOING all those things, to end up where he was. Most people will be plenty more prepared than that before attempting such a trip.

THANKS, my Stupid, I should have looked. Thats why its a bad idea for me to plan on sailing off alone, my brain works real good for the first 6 hours of the day, then comes afternoon I slowly loose it.
