BVIs. BBQ lobster on the beach at Anegada is a must.

We rented mopeds for $15 for a couple of hours. Not a whole lot to see, but was fun. Something to do before getting cleaned up for the lobster feast on the beach.

BTW, there is a lobster season ( we were there in mid Oct). At that time, only the Anegada Reef Hotel was serving fresh lobster.

Hey SailSC

I have been to the BVI once, for a week and I managed to work in 4 of the items on your list. Didn't realize I was so lucky.

Re: 10 Days in the Virgin Islands

Hi,

So we're thinking of doing an overnighter leaving from St. Martin today and getting into Spanish Town tomorrow morning / midday.

Are there moorings there? I found some info saying you hire them off the marinas?

Any info on that would be good. We just want a place to tie up to before the winds kick in again.

Regards,
Simon

There are mooring balls outside but you can anchor too. In the BVI unless the ball says otherwise (unusual) you just tie up and someone will come to collect.
Good luck!

Re: 10 Days in the Virgin Islands

Lots of room to anchor or pick up moorings outside the channel leading into the marina. The channel into the marina is very tight and has a sharp turn in it. Make sure you ID the markers before coming inside. There is no anchoring or moorings inside.

Re: 10 Days in the Virgin Islands

Thanks!

Off round to the bitter end moorings tomorrow if they are sheltered enough.
Then planning our way through to the U.S. Virgins before Purto Rico.

Will blog about it of course but some of the tips from here are already on our todo list.
Hopefully find some good sunset beach bars alone the way!
