Reference for Cruise Abaco Charter Company?

http://www.cruiseabaco.com/

Hello. I'm planning on chartering from Cruise Abaco in late February. Looking for anyone who has chartered with them and has an opinion to share. General ideas and/or advice on the area welcome as well. Thank you!

Re: Reference for cruise abaco charter company?

Not familiar with them specifically. Both The Moorings and Sunsail have online pricing so it's enough to compare charter prices.

I've sailed the Abacos about 7 times with the Moorings and several times in my own boat from Florida as well. It's my favorite cruising destination. I love the ability to choose between fun towns and having an anchorage to oneself at an uninhabited island. Not many charter destinations offer that.

The water can be a bit nippy in February. I'd consider a lightweight wetsuit if you plan to do a lot of snorkeling. I just use a farmer john shorty - easy to get on and off, keeps my arms free, but keeping my core warm is all I need. Cold fronts can be hit or miss, but can pack a bit of a punch that far north. While the land is low and offers little wind protection, the Sea of Abaco is for the most part protected. That along with the shallow water, keeps the sea state down in most areas even when it's blowing. Anchoring is fairly easy.

February is lobster season - yum yum.

If you post your query here: Abaco Forum Home Page, you'll get some good feedback. I've heard good things about them from several people!

My brother in law and his wife chartered from them and said they were great. In fact, they are still friends with Mark and have gone back a second time.
