One Year Caribbean Circumnavigation

Good Day,
We will complete our six year circumnavigation this January after crossing from the Cape Verde Islands to Antigua. We plan to be back in Miami Fall of 2012. Any hints about getting from Panama back to the States after touring the western Caribbean during hurricane season 2012? Looks like the winds would be brutal trying to go east along the Venezuelan coast. Any local knowledge?
Many thanks and Fair Winds to you all.

Re: One Year Caribbean Circumnavigation

A lot of people leave from either the San Blas Islands or from Cartagena up to Honduras, Belize and Isla Mujeres in Mexico, then wait for a three day window to the Florida Keys. You would avoid most of the windward work using that route.
