Moser Channel

We are planning on moving our sailboat, which draws 6', from Boot Key Harbor in Marathon to Charlotte Harbor on the west coast of Florida. Our plan is to make the passage sometime in September or October, weather permitting. Does anyone have current information to share with regards to navigating Moser Channel?

Re: Moser Channel

No problem at all as long as you pay attention to the channel markers. We have done that run with 6 foot draft many times. Chuck

Re: Moser Channel

You won't have any problem. Pay attention to the channel markers, then on the north side of the bridge, stay in the channel and until you reach #17 at Bullard Bank, you'll be clear to Romano Shoals light (~60nm) or head for Little Shark River.

CT 41? Long keel with contiguous rudder and the prop protected? I think you'll just slide over any floats and lines like me. The only time I ever caught a pot line was in reverse.

We just made that trip 5 Weeks ago from Charlotte Harbor. I would be more worried about the Romano shoals. I was surprised by how far they extended out from shore. We to will be making that trip north in about 3 Weeks. This time we will be going to Pensacola. Safe travels and fair winds.
