Florida > Bahamas > Caribbean

Is there an internet resource that has charts (interactive?) that show the relative winds at different times of the year to determine passage times?
Specifically relating to the thorny vs thornless path?

Here ya go...you can download and zoom in on any month for the thorn or caribe offshore.
What a great resource this is!
Maritime Safety Information

Clic on Atlas of Pilot Charts and then North Atlantic/gulf of Mexico to access monthly data...and suggest you have a highspeed connection before attempting!

I guess as far as boat bucs goes it is pretty cheap.

Since I don't have the boat yet are there sites that have that wind and current data available?

I just sort of want to look at it.

ATLAS of PILOT CHARTS:
Maritime Safety Information

The Atlas is sometimes difficult to access. Here's the URL, without the prefacing

Windfinder.com

Here's a site that I find very useful.

It has wind statistics (annual and monthly), current conditions (wind & waves), and seven day forecasts (wind & waves) for locations all over the world. It includes Florida, Nassau, Georgetown, and Providenciales, DR, PR, and Caribbean islands. Strangely, it includes some offshore weather buoys, but does not include Bermuda.

Wind forecast Central America (Belize, Cuba, Bahamas, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Colombia)

It helps to navigate to the location of interest on the "forecast" tab, then switch to "statistics".

Fabulous, thank you.

I am a retard though because after looking at a wind chart I find no way to switch to "statistics".

I am sure it is there though.

Therapy,

This site takes a little getting used to. Maybe this will help.

When you click on the link in my post (above) you get an area chart for the western Caribbean up to the Bahamas. Mouse-over the western-most red dot in the Bahamas, and you'll see "Nassau" pop up. Click on that dot to bring up the seven day forecast for Nassau. Now look at the top of the part with the windspeed bar chart section of the page, and you'll see three tabs: "wind statistic", "wind report", and "forecast". Click on "wind statistic", and then select the month(s) of interest, or the entire year, to see directions and average windspeeds, similar to a pilot chart.
