Re: Caribbean Cruising

Anybody notice the OP has two threads open on the exact same topic and hasn't responded or contributed nothing to the threads? I agree with others in the other Caribbean Cruising thread. Troll for sure. Sitting on the computer with a bag or chips and nothing better to do.

What? I have just returned from 3 years of cruising the Western Caribbean and neither my wife nor I was ever shot or stabbed and we had really good time. No guns either, although I picked up this crazy looking fish hook somewhere that could scare somebody off.

Re: Cruising the Caribbean

Dear Doctor Daniel, I think its time you bought some new charts. Those you have with dragons and sea serpents around the edges showing dangers haven't really been used for 300 years and whilst having a collectors value have been superseded.

You may have noticed CF is a forum about cruising and sailing, so to come here and to lecture us saying the Carib is dangerous when it is a major tourist destination is a tad rich.

For the lowest crime rates in the world, I suggest cruising Point Nemo. Just sail in, let out a LOT of anchor line, and enjoy the tranquility. No one will bother you . . . ever.

Re: Cruising the Caribbean

As a Caribbean person, cruising and living in the Caribbean, I wouldn't consider visiting the USA. It's easy to unsafe. There place is populated by gun toting rednecks, crime is out of sight, and there are more people in jail than in any other country. The government kills people.
The people of the US.A. are generally unfriendly to foreigners, they take your finger prints at the airport, require all kinds of paperwork, and they hate other religions.
The people of the USA do not treat travelers they way they expect to be treated, they feel entitled and think their money should make everyone else beholden to them. I'll pass, thanks.

Wow, you're as bad as the OP troll. I thought you were being sarcastic at first, but there's nothingbto suggest you are joking.

Oh great, avoiding being shot by some freedom lovin guntotin American was one of the reasons we wanted to cruise the Caribbean instead of getting an RV and seeing the US of A. Is it the same out past the Bahamas?

Well, since you generalized, almost everything. There is some paperwork required...

Re: Cruising the Caribbean

The Bahamas are about the only place that's easy to have a gun. Don't piss off some gringo and you should be fine.
I've heard that checking into the USA is a real pain for cruisers. Just about the worst. The murder rate is high, the prison population is high, teachers with guns, students with guns, so yeah it might sound dangerous to some.

There's 350,000,000 firearms circulating in the US. I feel so safe.
