Frigging cold, and can get a lot of snow, but not as much as you get in Sweden.

Hi all, and thanks for your replies.

We ended up in Dover ! Winter prices in Dover are clearly lower than average. Staying in Dover now until April when we will go north to discover the Caledonian canal.

Birdo-I followed your link and have to tell you, you, and I guess your father, have really accomplished something! A beautiful boat and a dream! It does not get any better than that. I wish you nothing but fair winds and smooth sailing!

What exactly would those prices be, and why do you think Dover is cheaper? Because it's primarily industrial/a working port?

I suppose you could lease a scooter and commute to Paris from Dover via the Chunnel. Somewhat of an odd prospect!
