Sailing / Wintering Gulf of Bothnia

We transfer our boat by truck to Germany this year and would like to sail from there along the Finnish coast up KEMI, which is in the north of the Gulf of Bothnia in Finland.

From there we would like to go by bus up to the Northcape and leave our boat in about that area on land over the winter time and sail the follwing year along the Swedish coast back to Germany.

What is your opinion about that ?
Could anybody recommend a place in the Northern Gulf of Bothnia (either Finnland or Sweden) where to leave the boat over the winter ?
No Marina necessary, a safe place just to leave the boat (on land) would be sufficient, can be a privat place or shipyard, whatever.

Joefloki,
You probably know that most of the Baltic sea is frozen in winter. Then, you should leave the boat on land.

Information about the extend of ice in the Baltic Sea is available here: Baltice.org

I have a couple of boating friends close to Oulu (a bit south from Kemi). If you wan't I can ask them places and prizes. While visiting Nordcap stop by.. take road 4 to north and by the Norwegian border 100m back.

Re: Sailing / Wintering Gulf of Bothnia

Ok.. here's some links for starters. All in the Oulu region:
www.otps.fi
Oulun Merenkvijt ry - Etusivu
OPS:n ja OM:n Telakkasäätiö
Oulun Purjehdusseura
Kotisivu
Satama ja telakka
All the pages are in finnish but maybe you get something out with google translator. Most of them are clubs so think they wan't you to join to get the winterplace (just my thought) Phone numbers and fees are found there. To call to Finland take +358 and remove the first digit 0 from the number. I let you know when I have something more..
