GENUINE VS FAKE GOVERNMENT WEBSITES

I found this on the stormcarib.com website this morning...

Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2017 22:12:38 -0400
From: Marcus DeMaaijer
Subject: official news and gov pages Sint Maarten

In the wake of Irma allot of "fake government websites" have been launched
for no other reason than profit and clickthrough traffic redirection.

I live in Curacao, which is just like Sint Maarten, Holland and Aruba, a
country within the Dutch Kingdom, so trust me, I know which the official
government websites are.

Sint Maarten government websites (aka all others not on this list are fake)

Official Sint Maarten (aka SXM) Government websites
The Official Website of The Government of Sint Maarten

Re: sxm/anguilla rescue and evacuation information

important for all nationalities

Information from Royal Caribbean for the ROYAL CARIBBEAN SHIP coming tomorrow, this THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH for evacuation (all nationalities and all PETS are welcome):
The ship will be arriving to pick up evacuees this Thursday at the port in St. Maarten and they will be dropped off the next day in San Juan, PR where they may make their own travel arrangements (the San Juan airport is functioning). Service animals and PETS ARE ALLOWED onboard.
We are asking that you please try to get us all the information requested below by 6:00PM Wednesday (September 13). U.S. Customs and Borders require this information for anyone boarding our vessels.
Please send the following information about anyone seeking to be evacuated to us at this same email address, stormhelp@rccl.com. ALL NATIONALITIES WELCOME!!
-Family Name
-Given Name(s)
-Date of Birth
-ID Type and country (Passport, DL, ARC, etc.)
-ID Number
-ID expiration
-Country of Residence
-Email address and/or phone number
-Emergency contact
-Any special circumstances
We will then share more details about the ship’s arrival and the process for getting to the ship.
We are working with local government to get as many people aboard as we safely can. We can't guarantee that we can meet every request, and if it is dangerous to travel to the port, don't. We understand that roads to the port are in terrible condition, and may not yet be safe for travel.
We know that this is a very stressful time, and our thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone on the island. We’ll do all we can to help.

Hello everyone, I have new and important information about the **ROYAL CARIBBEAN* humanitarian cruise, scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday. Please share broadly. I regret the length of this post but it contains essential information for those wishing to evacuate SXM. Note, I am the sole passenger traveling on the ship to SXM to assist with the evacuation so this is confirmed information.
1. The cruise will be DELAYED, but is still coming, please do not worry. It is taking longer than anticipated on St. Thomas in order to fetch all evacuees. It will return to San Juan Thursday to offload passengers and to replenish supplies, then will leave and arrive SXM on FRIDAY MORNING.
2. There is a lot of space for SXM evacuees and Royal Caribbean welcomes all nationalities, and all animals (both service animals and others, pets, etc.
3. To confirm your space, please see other posts and send the requested information to stormhelp@rccl.com (Mole Sxm Sxm just posted the info again).
4. You MUST send the information and you MUST have received a confirmation email back from Royal Caribbean in order to be on their manifest in order to board the ship. BUT, if you do receive an email response, then please do not worry! You are confirmed and will have a spot. So, no need to arrive a daybreak ;o))) There might be lines to board, but please rest assured that a bed awaits you!
5. The plan is to depart Friday evening once all guests are aboard and all supplies have been offboarded. As you can see from the St Thomas experience, Royal Caribbean will do its level best to fill the ship, even if we need to wait for you to get there! ;o)
6. Arrival back in San Juan is "expected" (depending on departure . . . .) by Saturday morning.
That is what I have for now. I will update with new information as it comes in. As a SXM resident (though my actual home there apparently is gone), my heart is with you all and I will return the moment I am permitted to contribute to our beautiful future together.

There will not be any non-military direct flights in and out of the Netherlands until at least September 17th, unless something else developes.
Best options are via Curacao or With Winair to Angitua via England.

please read last 3 paragraphs very carefully regarding onward travel!!!!!!!

*please share*
Hello all, some of you might have received an email from Royal Caribbean about the upcoming departure. It further explains some information about that departure (especially for non-US citizens), and for those who have no access to email or do not receive a reply, see below. Some recipients were a little confused about the timing, so please know that we're still on target to arrive SXM friday morning (though the email discussed its current situation in St. Thomas).
Hello,
We are doing our best to help evacuate people from St. Maarten after Hurricane Irma and appreciate your patience. We hope you have made it to the port safely and are waiting to board our ship.
We’ve had another update from the St. Thomas port authorities. Majesty of the Seas is being allowed to stay at the dock until sunset tonight so that we can assist as many evacuees as possible. She will now be sailing to San Juan, Puerto Rico later tonight and arriving early morning on Thursday September 14.
Again, if you provided us your details and are receiving this email, they have been added to the ship's manifest. If you did not provide your details, we recommend heading to the port with the proper travel identification and paper work. We will make every effort to accommodate, but cannot make any guarantees as onsite port authorities will have final say on permissions to board.

Please also note, after consulting with the local government in St. Maarten and San Juan, all evacuees with foreign nationalities that have secured travel plans out of San Juan are being allowed to board.

If you are NOT a US citizen, it is important that you take this time and coordinate your continuing travel from San Juan.

You will be asked to show proof of travel or authorities may not allow you to board the ship. U.S citizens will be process and allowed to board the ship but are strongly encouraged to secure their accommodations/travel from San Juan.

We look forward to welcoming you on board!
Regards,
Royal Caribbean International

Re: sxm/anguilla rescue and evacuation information

From Tradewinds face book page Hurricane Irma Update #3
ALL TRADEWINDS STAFF NOW ACCOUNTED FOR
We can now report that we have accounted for all staff that were in the path of Hurricane Irma, and we are extremely thankful that everybody is safe. The team in Guadeloupe did a fantastic job of sending up yachts full of aid. On the 11th September S/Y Further delivered aid and evacuated all remaining staff/crew from St Martin. On the 12th S/Y New Beginnings delivered aid to The British Virgin Islands and evacuated all remaining staff/crew. They are now en route to safety where a shower, a hot meal and many of their evacuated colleagues await them.
THANK YOU!
This period had been stressful on all of our staff. We just want to say a big thank you to all of our members, friends and supporters. Whether from home, or, whilst cruising with us, you have given us so much support over this period. Your kind words and concern for those affected have greatly helped us throughout this challenging time!
BVI TO RELOCATE IT'S BASE OPERATIONS FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER
We have temporarily relocated our BVI base operations to beautiful Christophe Harbour in the twin-island nation of St Kitts & Nevis. St Kitts & Nevis was unaffected by Hurricane Irma and offers a stunning sailing experience, something that those of our members who have been on a Caribbean Summer Adventure there can affirm. All of you that have confirmed BVI sailing dates, during this time frame, will be contacted by our reservations team. We are hopeful to resume basic operations back in the BVI’s by November.
ST MARTIN BASE UPDATE
With regards to our St Martin base, this is the place that has been hit the hardest. Therefore, all of you that have confirmed sailing dates in October will be contacted by our reservations team to offer alternative cruises at our other Caribbean destinations. With regards to bookings from November onwards, stay tuned for more news next week.
A LOOK BEYOND
Even though Irma caused havoc and destruction in parts of the islands, our TradeWinds bases in The Bahamas, Antigua, Guadeloupe and St Vincent & the Grenadines remain stunningly beautiful and unaffected, with additional charters added to the calendar.
All our yachts are fully insured and we are now working with our yacht building partners to repair and replace losses incurred. Rest assured that TradeWinds has weathered the storm and we will continue to EXPLORE, DREAM AND DISCOVER more than ever before!
Once again, we thank you for your support and we look forward to sailing with you again very soon!Hurricane Irma Update #3
