Now into our 8th wonderful year of cruising and living full time aboard our comfortable OYSTER built cruising yacht, my husband and I have made the decision to change our lifestyle and move ashore...we are not getting any younger..!

'Pacific Pearl’ is a strongly built yacht with sleek lines and excellent performances, with an in mast furling sloop rig...easily handled by a couple, with all lines leading aft to the large secure centre cockpit.　　

Our OYSTER 48 Lightwave is a renowned seaworthy fast live aboard cruiser capable of extended blue water cruising anywhere in the world.

She has a bright owner’s aft cabin (with a practical separate deck access hatch and　folding companionway), en-suite heads/shower compartment. There are two pilot berths in the starboard walk-thru to the aft cabin. (which we actually use as a practical ‘workshop’, for the necessary washing machine, extra stowage.. sun awnings, cockpit cushions etc.)

There is full size chart table/ navigation area. The spacious comfortable saloon has a large folding wooden table in two sections, with long banquettes, which could be used as extra berths.
Another double cabin forward with convertible V berth, plus a second heads/shower compartment.

The practical well designed galley is situated aft of the saloon in the port walk-thru.
A huge amount of practical stowage throughout the boat, as you would expect from a yacht of this calibre with the quality craftsmanship from OYSTER Marine, UK.

PP is actually on the hard in Preveza, Greece, for the annual underwater maintenance tasks.
Works carried out this past week.....
A professional Marine Surveyor carried out a moisture test on the underwater hull .....no sign whatsoever of osmosis.
The top side hull has been professionally polished by the boatyard, looking nice and shiny.
They also sanded the underneath and added new antifouling.
My husband has serviced...cleaned and greased each seacock, also changed the anodes where necessary and worked on our 3 blade Max Prop.
He has also recently serviced every winch..
Sailand, professionals from Lefkas are in the process of completing their servicing in the engine room working on the stuffing box and new tresses , plus replacing a seacock.
Back in water before Easter....
