1969 (Alberg) Oceana 30 Pocket Cruiser in SF Bay Area - $7,900

Price: $7,900
Location: Redwood City, California

(Helping a friend with this one)

Nymph is a practical pocket cruiser that was designed as (and succeeded in being) a phenomenal liveboard for the San Francisco Bay and Delta waters.

The fiberglass hull is that of an Alberg 30. It was built by H-L Marine in San Carlos, CA (# 1 of 5). It has a fully encapsulated lead keel weighing 4,200 lbs with a total displacement of 12,000 lbs.

The deck/cabin was intended essentially to be a pilothouse (less the internal helm), maximizing headroom, volume and visibility from the interior. It is complete with a hard dodger and a hinged companionway that has a 2-piece door (the lower half designed to be locked into place as a bridgedeck to reduce the cabin’s exposure at sea).

The vessel is powered by a freshwater cooled inboard Yanmar 3GM30F diesel that has tons of life left with only 3,799 hours on the clock. Tankage capacity is large for a 30'er, with a 50 gallon holding tank, 35 gallon water tank and two diesel tanks, one 32 gallon and another 18 gallon.

The rigging can be used either as a sloop in it’s current configuration, or put on the mizzen sail and use it as a yawl. The genoa lives on a ProFurl furler which spins smoothly. The mainsail utilizes a Mack Pack which makes deploying and recovering the sail a very quick operation.

Everything about the vessel has been designed for practicality. All sail control lines and handling can be done from the cockpit in relative comfort and safety. The two aluminum Lewmar self-tailing winches are in pristine condition. The mainsheet uses pulleys which eliminates clutter and tripping points in the cockpit. The wheel steer helm uses a clamshell shroud and panels which can be opened up for maintenance work. The vessel was outfitted for use with an Autohelm ST4000 but there is not one included.

There is adequate included ground tackle including a sizeable danforth style anchor built of stainless steel mounted on the stern rail.

This vessel is 100% ready to set sail today. As expected there is some non-structural cosmetic work inside and out that would benefit from attention, including some of the wood paneling and a bit of paint. A couple of the aluminum framed portlights could use a resealing. The dodger is missing a few of it’s portlights, some of the parts are included. Nymph is a very capable vessel that can take you anywhere comfortably. Nymph is not a show boat.

The vessel is currently slipped in Bair Island Marina (Redwood City, California). The slip fee is $400 and my understanding is that the slip can be acquired upon application approval with the office.
