So this man contacts me in August 2011, "your yacht is just what I am looking for."
I was in no hurry to sell being on a fixed pension etc etc.
From August to November: "A similar yacht in the far east had fallen apart".
"The
hull is moulded in too many sections and glued together". I talked with
the
builder and the prospective purchaser was appraised of the background
to the story and other misapprehensions were explained.
In December, a friend of the prospective buyer made a 150 mile journey to
see the yacht. He started with an attempted credit check. He then said he
expected a showroom finish, as if a car. The interview went downhill from
there
It then transpired he was an
engineer with no
marine experience who went away
no wiser.
After more than 50 emails; I told you I as retired; I suggested a reputable psychiatrist.
Boat sold and I am now the happy owner of a Ben. First 285.
