Re: March Contest - Win Up to $1,000 US Dollars

I'm signed up! Also, I am in the final stages of completing my 1979 MacGregor Venture 25 restoration project. Boat was totally stripped all new upgraded deck hardware, stainless steel ofcourse and a new hand made 5lb stainless steel mast step made of quarter inch stainless. Also, restored the keel. Then installed new 35 hp rated stainless motor mount, quarter inch rudder grudgeons and a stern mounted stainless steel boarding ladder. New lifeline. Stripped the interior of the boat and all new wood work and oak and mahogany table. Also, painted the interior alsbaster white, gloss marine paint and am using starboard spacers and stainless backing plates for everything, cleats fair leads, blocks, motor mount, grudgeons. Everything new. I am a retired electrical engineer and my buddy who is helping me is a machinist. Won't be another 1979 MacGregor Venture 25 like this anywhere. Plus, butyl tape is the sealer except for sekaflex below and above the rub rail. I think that this Mac will go anywhere safely that you have the nads to take her. Back from the DEAD. HOBSON'S CHOICE is a brand new boat. All labor done by me so the $8k I put in is in the best materials, not burned up money on labor, its all in the boat. All thats left is new sail. Carolyn retire now soon and away we go!!! My last adventure is coming to fruition. Been a great life.!!
