Xantrex link 2000

I just started getting an over heating fault on my Link 2000, this has never happened before and it now shuts down after only 5 min. Does anyone have experience with this problem. I'm on anchor in MX. waiting for weather and could really use my generator right now. Thanks

I am assuming that you are receiving an E-3 error code on the Link 2000 indicating a high temperature on the Xantrex inverter/charger you are controlling. Is this correct?

If so, what model and year is the Xantrex inverter/charger?

yes, E-3 year is 2006, model 81-2511-12 freedom marine 25

After a bit of research, it appears that your Freedom is truly overheating or the temperature sensor in the unit has failed.

If it is overheating:
> The unit should reset after it cools down. Does it?
> Is there any blockage around the unit preventing air flow?
> Is the fan running properly?
> What is the ambient temperature in the compartment where the unit is installed?
