wind generator

Looking for recommendations on wind generators. Have no experience with them. Heading south to the Carribean.

Although going to the Caribbean you might be better off with solar

pirate Re: wind generator

I rate Aerogen... quiet and efficient... lotsa wind in the Carib...
but would suggest fitting a solar panel as well to complement the set up...

Love my Superwind!

Spend the money, I looked at D400's
closely but spoke with the owner of
SW at the Miami Show and bought it
from West at the show price.
Earned $90 in West certificates

We've got an air breeze. Throughout the western Caribbean it never made as much power on average as the solar panels (and I'm adding more before we go again). When it was windy it was great, but anchored for several days next to a boat with a kiss.....I know what I'm getting when the breeze dies!!

Re: wind generator

I'd stay away from sw windpower products. I've had an awful time trying to keep mine working and every part has failed shy of the case and armature. Parts are expensive and customer service hard to contact. Stator $187 similiar stator for 10si alternator is $30. They probably make as much money selling replacement parts as they do selling complete units.
