What is This ???

Since I needed an after-work decompression, I decided to go through some of the wiring on Cynosure. The various POs have left behind dead-end runs and other vestiges of electrical systems past. Clearing out dead runs also provides a great opportunity to learn where the various circuits were run!


The device shown below was connected to the two house batteries and ran to a 120v three prong plug that was under the lazzarette. I think the PO used to connect a solar panel to the plug. He used a three prong to make sure he kept pos/neg correctly aligned. But a second opinion on the device would be greatly appreciated.
