Re: Wallas 22dt Deisel heater

After 3 failed starts a Wallas will lock out. This prevents too much fuel buildup in the burner pot.

Remove the positive wire for a few minutes to reset.

The pumps are self priming.

As posted the fittings have to be tight. When you think the fuel fitting is tight enough tighten it a bit more.

While you're checking the wiring (which is mostly just a harness, right?), perhaps also try disconnecting power completely, I had to do this once to kind of reset the system after it got a little discombobulated.

I don't have manual in front of me, are there fuses anywhere in the heater itself to check? Could be getting power to the blower and the control head but separate fuse is not allowing power to the pump?
Found a blown fuse some days ago. Before then it did not turn on. Will now try to see if there is a fusr only for fuel pump.

One question.

Where are you connected to for 12 volts? Wallas always starts better if wired directly to the battery with a fuse instead of wiring to the main panel. If the harness isn't long enough extend it with larger wire.

Its connected to the fuse box. I could try it direct to battery

Do you know what caused the fuse to blow? Could you have melted wire a bit before the fuse blew?

Cool! Glad you got it fixed.

Out of curiosity how long do you think it had been since the pump had last run?
